Adriatic Bank AD Podgorica joins the SEPA zone as of October 7: Faster, cheaper, and safer transactions
As of October 7, 2025, Adriatic Bank will officially become part of the SEPA zone (Single Euro Payments Area), providing our clients with access to new European standards in payment services. This means that euro payments will be simpler, more cost-effective, and more secure – under the same rules and conditions applied across the European Union.
The benefits of SEPA membership include:
- Lower fees – the first daily transaction up to €200 is free
• For amounts up to €20,000: €1.99 if initiated via e-banking or mobile banking, or €3.99 if initiated at Bank branches
• For amounts above €20,000: maximum €25.00 if initiated via e-banking or mobile banking, or €50.00 if initiated at Bank branches - Faster transactions – funds are transferred within a few hours, and no later than the end of the next business day
- Security and standardization – a unified IBAN/BIC format and harmonized rules reduce the possibility of errors and increase transaction security
- Equal conditions as in the EU – payments across 40+ countries under the same rules as in the EU
- Support for businesses – easier cooperation with European partners, improved cash flow, and facilitated export/import
Joining the SEPA zone is a significant step for Montenegro’s financial system and further proof that Adriatic Bank provides its clients with services in line with European standards. Our mission is to ensure your payments are secure, fast, and cost-effective, whether you operate domestically or internationally.
SEPA opens new opportunities for both individuals and businesses: from simpler payments and lower costs to strengthening business cooperation with partners across Europe. With us, you have a reliable partner that keeps pace with European integration and delivers practical benefits in everyday life.
